Digitaler Druck auf Roll up

Stories which can slumber in the truest sense behind the facade of buildings are the starting point for the work „Floating Mass“.
According to Ernest Hemingway‘s iceberg model, the profound content of a narrative should lie predominantly under the surface and in secret.
In direct reference to this, the model of a narrative theory is laconically and without frills transformed into an architectural-sculptural context.
But the image of a model inspired by banal supermarket architecture as tip of an iceberg made of cheap insulation material placed on a
mainstream medium for product presentation does not evoke any unbiased stories; It rather tells metaphorically of the consumption-oriented
everyday life, the throw-away society, and of the topographical formations of social globalization.

The work “Bad Building” can be seen as a broken off piece from “floating mass” and as a manifesto against discount architecture and hollow forms.

Both works were realized for the group exhibtion BORIS TLORIS, where public space in zagreb was issued.
“With a critical and humorous approach it focusses on the shaping of the public sphere by foreign capital, globalised enterprises
and “rich uncles”, whose outlines are engraved into the contem-porary political and urban landscape.”
